تتسم الفضاءات الداخلية التقليدية في العمارة العربية والإسلامية بطابعها الفريد الذي يعكس الثقافة والتراث المحلي,وتشمل مجموعة واسعة من الأماكن داخل المنازل والمباني التقليدية, وتعد صالات الضيوف التقليدية التي تعرف أيضًا بالمضايف في العراق والمجالس أو الديوانيات في بعض الدول العربية من اهمها ، وهي أماكن مخصصة لاستقبال الضيوف وتجمعات الأهل والأصدقاء، وتعكس جانباً من الضيافة العربية الأصيلة, والتقاليد المحلية وتتنوع تصاميم هذه الصالات وأساليبها باختلاف الثقافات والتقاليد المحلية, يتكون البحث الحالي من اطارا منهجيا يتكون من مشكلته تتمثل بالتساؤل التالي: ما مدى فاعلية العوامل الثقافية والاجتماعية في تصميم الفضاءات الداخلية للمضايف المحلية؟ و هدف البحث الحالي الى : الكشف عن واقع حال تصاميم فضاءات الاستقبال التقليدية ومرجعيات تصميمها , وايجاد مرتكزات تصميمية لفضاءات الاستقبال التقليدية بما يسهم في تعزيز الاحساس بالتناغم الاجتماعي بين تلك الفضاءات وخصوصية روادها.واطارا نظريا يتكون من مبحثين الاول : الثقافة المحلية وانعكاساتها في التصميم الداخلي المبحث الثاني: تصميم الفضاءا الداخلية لغرف الاستقبال المحلية. واجراءات بحثه الذي انتهج بها المنهج الوصفي وتوصل البحث على نتائج: اذ وقام الباحث بالتحليل وفق الاستمارة التي اعدها سلفا وتوصل الى النتائج المثبتة احصائيا الوسط الحسابي لفقرات الاستمارة 3.27ونسبة مئوية معدل جميع الفقرات 81.9% ,واستنتاجات همها:
