Abstract

This study، entitled "Formal Dualities and Their Visual Effectiveness in Contemporary Textile and Fashion Designs،" addresses the problem represented by the following question: "Do formal dualities (of reality and imagination) achieve visual effectiveness in fashion fabric design?" The second chapter includes two sections: the first، "Formal Dualities in Design،" and the second، "The Duality of Reality and Imagination and Its Visual Effectiveness in Fashion Fabric Design." The third chapter includes the research methodology، which adopted a descriptive and analytical approach to achieve the research objectives. The research sample was intentionally limited to (3) models to obtain the most important results، the most important of which are:

  1. Unconventional abstract designs were adopted in models (1، 3)، with prominent use of geometric shapes and the interaction of industrial patterns with the shapes of the models to enhance volume and prominent details، with a percentage of 66.6.

2.                 The use of abstract metaphors and contrasts between nature and industry to express themes such as freedom، dynamism، and transformation enhances visual interaction. Moreover، the use of fabrics borrowed from nature and bold designs such as wings blend reality with fantasy. These relationships reflect how clothing can carry deep symbolism and significantly impact visual appeal and aesthetics.
