Peer Review Process
AL-Academy uses a dual peer review system to ensure the accuracy and quality of the review process. The research must be submitted via the online research submission system, and for research with the minimum requirements of the academic and within the journal's objectives and scope of specialization, according to the following:
- The editor-in-chief sends the research to the representative member of the editorial board to examine the scientific validity of the research and indicate the extent of its agreement with the journal's specialization. If the answer is (not suitable), the research is returned to the researcher accompanied by an apology. If the answer is (suitable), he is asked to nominate a scientific expert in the precise specialization from within the college or outside it and not from the journal's editorial board.
- The research is presented to the plagiarism checking program approved by the University of Baghdad to check for similarities before starting the review. After that, an email notification is sent to the researcher within a month, to inform him of the acceptance or rejection of his research.
- Submitting the article: The researcher submits the article to the journal via the Internet, noting that the acceptable percentage approved by the university is (20%).
- Structural evaluation: The editor-in-chief checks the structure and arrangement of the paper according to the guidelines stated in the journal’s terms of publication to ensure that it includes the required sections and styles and does not evaluate the quality of the paper at this stage.
- Evaluation and processing by the editor-in-chief: The editor-in-chief checks that the paper is suitable for the journal and that it is original and interesting enough. If it is not, the paper may be rejected without further review.
- The journal evaluates the reviews: The editor-in-chief considers all the reviews returned before making a general decision. If the reviews differ widely, the editor may invite an additional scientific expert to obtain additional opinion before making a decision.
- Basic decision: The editor-in-chief sends an email with the decision to the researcher, including any relevant comments from the scientific expert. The name of the expert is anonymous to the researcher(s).
- The researcher submits a revised paper: The researcher must make the changes requested by the scientific expert, and these changes should be highlighted in red or yellow.
- Final decision: If the paper is accepted, the researcher must pay the publication fee, and the paper is sent to the journal programmer
