Visual culture among art education students and its manifestations in their artistic output

Abstract

The research deals with visual culture among art education students and its representations in their artistic productions. The research included four chapters. The first chapter represented the methodological framework of the research problem, importance, objective, limits and research terms. The second chapter represented the theoretical framework and included a topic on visual culture. The third chapter included the research methodology and procedures. The researcher relied on the descriptive approach with the analytical style. The research community amounted to (74) artworks, while the sample amounted to (6) artworks. The fourth chapter included the research results, conclusions, recommendations and proposals. Among the most important results were: The type of visual vocabulary in which the subject of the artworks was represented, which is the painting in particular, varied between simplified formalism and symbolism for some formal vocabulary borrowed from reality that reflects the student’s environment, which was represented in some vocabulary The formality implemented in the work, with some costumes reflecting Baghdadi dress, is interspersed with symbolic symbols experienced by the student, executed in bright, gleaming colors, free of color gradations, a phenomenon found throughout the works. The research concludes with a list of sources and appendices.
