Employing Artificial Intelligence in Children’s Theatre Performances: (The Play Stop as a Model)

The current research is concerned with studying the use of artificial intelligence in relation to dramatic structure and meaning production in children's theater performances - the play (stop) as a model. The first chapter, representing the methodological framework of the research, included the research problem, defined by the following question: Did the use of artificial intelligence achieve organic integration within the dramatic structure of the selected play, leading to the production of meaning and the intensification of imagination, without becoming a mere spectacle separate from the dramatic context? The research aimed to reveal the use of artificial intelligence in the performance of the play "Stop," set in 2025 and in Kuwait (at the Drama Theatre in the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre). The second chapter, representing the theoretical framework, addressed two sections. The first section was titled "Artificial Intelligence: Its Concept, Importance, Types, and Characteristics," while the second section was titled "The Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Children's Theatre Performances." The chapter concluded with the indicators. The third chapter (research procedures) defined the research sample as the play mentioned in the title. The research adopted the descriptive-analytical method, analyzing the play "Stop" according to the indicators of the theoretical framework, which served as the analytical tool. The fourth chapter presented a set of findings. The most important results include: Digital elements such as holograms and virtual backgrounds enabled live interaction between the actors and the digital space, which added extra vitality and a prominent semantic dimension to the dramatic event, and enhanced the sense of the child’s integration into the imaginary world of theater in a realistic and impactful way. The current research also reached a set of conclusions, recommendations, and suggestions, and ended with the sources.
