Creating innovative artistic treatments for handicrafts by combining traditional building patterns and Ebru motifs to design contemporary artistic lighting units

The Kingdom is characterized by the diversity of its cultural heritage of crafts and handicrafts. This diversity is due to the difference in the environmental and geographical nature between its regions. The craft of traditional building is one of the oldest and most important crafts practiced by man in the Kingdom, as it was closely linked to his environment and place of residence, and was a manifestation of his interaction with the surrounding nature.
Ebru expresses an aesthetic philosophy based on organized spontaneity, where artistic sense is balanced with the laws of physics and chemistry in the interaction of color with the water surface, making each painting a visual world pulsating with movement and rhythm.
Lighting units are one of the essential design elements in interior spaces, as they contribute to shaping the visual atmosphere and defining the aesthetic sense of the place.
This research aims to :
- 1. Develop artistic treatments for handicrafts by integrating traditional architectural patterns and Ebru motifs into the design of contemporary artistic lighting fixtures.
- 2. Assess the degree of acceptance among specialists of these artistic treatments for handicrafts, which combine traditional architectural patterns and Ebru motifs into the design of contemporary artistic lighting fixtures.
3. Measuring the degree of consumer acceptance of the formal treatments of handicrafts by incorporating traditional building patterns and Ebru decorations into the design of contemporary artistic lighting units.
