شهد الفن العراقي المعاصر من منجزات فنية كانت ضمن الأنساق المعرفية المكونة للرسم العراقي الحديث الذي رافقه تنوع الموضوعات في محاولة لإشاعة قيم جمالية تنتمي الى روح العصر وتنوع الفكر واستيعاب نهجه الجديد بما في ذلك ايضاً احتواء البيئة والموروث المتمثل في رسم المنمنمات للواسطي والمتصور بالذهن لدى فنانين العراق مما اكتسبوه خلال سفراتهم لدول الغرب، كانت مظاهر الطبيعة هي الأبرز فيما يظهره الفنان في أعماله الإبداعية، لكن للتنوع المرأة تخرج من مظهرها المادي في أساليب حضور تمثلات صورة المرأة في الرسم العراقي دلالات تحمل بين طياتها أكثر من معنى وأصبح من الضروري الكشف عن المضامين الكامنة والفكرة التي يريد الفنان الإفصاح عنها حيث تسعى الباحثة للكشف عنها في صيغ وأساليب جديدة باعتبارها وسيلة خطاب ناقلة للأفكار بصياغات مختلفة، هدف البحث: محاولة دراسة الأشكال الفنية للمرأة، وتمثلاتها داخل الأعمال الفنية. تصمن الفصل الثاني مبحثين: الأول: المرجعيات الضاغطة على صورة المرأة في الرسم العراقي، والثاني: التناص الأسلوبي في الرسم العراقي، اما عينة البحث فقد تم اعتماد العينة القصدية لخدمة مجريات البحث واتجاهاته، واهم النتائج والاستنتاجات، نجد أن الفنان عالج الصورة الواقعية للمرأة بمجموعة من الأحاسيس والانفعالات والتفكر واته نحو الصورة الباطنية التي تناولها رفضه للثبات والتثبت. استعارة الفنان ماهود أحمد مفردات من تاريخ حضارة وادي الرافدين وتوظيفها داخل أعماله كما في عينة رقم (1) بالإضافة الى بعض الفنانين العراقيين الآخرين
