تعدُّ المكملات التزيينية المضافة من العوامل المهمة في تحديد الكثير من التأثيرات التزيينية وكيفية تنفيذها سواء كانت في الأقمشة أو الأزياء وأيضاً تعمل على تحديد طبيعة الإدراك لكل من المصمم والمتلقي ولها دور أساسي في تكوين شخصية الإنسان وتحديد دوافعه وميوله العاطفية في اقتناء الأقمشة والأزياء وما تحمل من مفردات تصميمية لها دلالات ورموز معينة تكتسب قيمتها من التأثيرات التي تتركها في التكوينات الجسمانية للمرأة، وجاء مشكلة البحث بالتساؤل الاتي(ماهي المكملات التزيينية وما دورها في تصاميم الاقمشة والازياء النسائية؟) كما وتناول البحث ثلاثة مباحث، تضمن المبحث الاول الإطار المنهجي في طرح المشكلة واهميتها واهدافها فضلا عن التعريف بأهم المصطلحات، والمبحث الثاني تضمن الإطار النظري والذي تضمن الموضوعات التالية اولا: مفهوم المكملات التزيينية في التصميم، ثانيا: التصاميم التزيينية في الاقمشة والازياء. اما المبحث الثالث فقد تضمن اجراءات البحث للوصول الى اهداف البحث وقد اعتمد على المنهج الوصف التحليلي ثم بعد ذلك تم ادراج اهم النتائج والتوصيات واخيراً اهم المصادر والمراجع
