Abstract

Artificial intelligence is emerging as an unprecedented analytical tool, providing tools and techniques for analyzing artwork that can enrich our understanding and appreciation of artwork in ways that were not possible before. Perhaps the most important artificial intelligence applications that can help in analyzing artworks are (Gemini, Copilot, Chat Gpt) which, when talking to it and adding the artwork (painting) for any artist, once you ask the application to analyze the work for any artistic trend, method, doctrine, school, or abbreviation in analyzing the artwork, such as explaining the foundations and elements in the painting, the application will give us a comprehensive explanation of the artwork. This will reduce the time and effort of the artist or student to know the details of the artwork, decode its hidden codes and symbols, and clarify the points that may be overlooked by humans in the analysis.

This matter encouraged the researchers to conduct an applied study to find a practical approach between artificial intelligence analysis and postgraduate students’ analysis to identify the similarities and differences between the two analyses. To achieve this, three artworks (abstract, surreal, expressionist) were chosen to be analyzed by (3) doctoral students in the Department of Art Education. The brief analyses were presented according to a set of criteria that the researchers established for the purpose of guiding the analysis process. In light of this, the researchers concluded that there are There is a great similarity between the analysis mechanisms between artificial intelligence and students, despite the different levels of expression.

Considering this, the researchers recommended the necessity of utilizing artificial intelligence in training students on the process of analyzing and criticizing artistic works, and the necessity of training students on the mechanisms of dealing with artificial intelligence in the field of analysis and criticism. The research included a number of scientific sources that were used to achieve its objectives.
