This research addresses the dialectics of the relationship between performative selectivity and digital artistic generation in light of contemporary critical approaches, which have transcended viewing the artwork as a closed text to considering it an open space for interpretive and pluralistic readings. The research problem revolves around the main question: What is the dialectic of the relationship between performative selectivity and digital artistic generation in light of contemporary critical approaches? The objective of the research is to explore the dialectics of the relationship between performative selectivity and digital artistic generation in light of contemporary critical approaches. The first chapter concluded with a review of the research limits and the key terms used. The second chapter discussed, in the first section, dialectics in ancient philosophical thought; the second section addressed performative selectivity as a concept and term; the third section examined the manifestations of dialectics in contemporary critical approaches. The chapter ended with indicators of the theoretical framework. The third chapter employed the descriptive-analytical method, as it was the most suitable for achieving the research objectives. The research community included 10 digital generative artworks, from which 4 samples were selected. A research tool was designed according to the theoretical framework indicators. The researcher used the following statistical methods for data analysis: Cooper’s equation for tool validity, Holsti’s equation for tool reliability, weighted mean, and percentage weight. The fourth chapter focused on presenting the results, including that the artist/producer possesses an awareness of the importance of performative selectivity in constructing contemporary digital generative artworks, and that it allows the artist to combine diverse elements. This is attributed to the variety of artists’ experiences with artificial intelligence and digital platforms, which made them more aware of the role of selectivity in generating hybrid aesthetics. The chapter concluded with recommendations and proposals
