Abstract

The theatrical experience is a complex space of multiple expressive systems. The acting performance becomes in the front of these systems. Because it involves the intersection of kinetic, physical, and vocal actions, through which the artistic, aesthetic, and philosophical vision of the performance image and its integration is embodied. Accordingly, the problem of stereotyping and repetition emerges as one of the central and interactive means that affect the structure and policy of performance and its semantic effectiveness.

Repetition is one of the artistic expressive methods and patterns of theatrical performance. Especially theatrical acting performance, as repetition establishes a kind of continuity and semantic flow and emphasizes many themes and meanings in its humanistic, aesthetic and artistic poetic images.

Repetition carries and provides emphatic and decorative functions, and adds structural and compositional dimensions to the process of acting performance and the formulation of the typical, innovative, and repetitive dramatic theatrical character in the form of the theatrical performance.

 The research contains four chapters:

The first chapter: addresses the research problem, its importance, and the need for it. The research problem is defined by answering the question: What is the nature of theatrical performance in contemporary theatrical productions, between stereotypes and repetition?

The research aims to identify the dimensions of theatrical performance in relation to stereotypes and repetitions. It also defines the temporal, spatial, and thematic boundaries of the research. The research concludes with a definition of some key terms.

The second chapter: includes the theoretical framework, comprising three sections:

1- Section One: Functions of Patterns and Repetition

2- Section Two: The roots of Tropes and Repetition in Tragedy and comedy

3- Section Three: Patterns and Repetition in Global Experience

The chapter concludes with the most important indicators within the theoretical framework.

The third chapter: it includes the research procedures, the research community, and the research methodology.it adopted the descriptive approach to analyze the research sample that was intentionally selected because it matched the research objectives. The research sample was represented by the (disagreement) model.

The fourth Chapter: includes the results and conclusions. The most important findings are:

1-                    The typical acting performance in the play "Disagreement" accurately reflected the events. The portrayal of the dramatic character was achieved within the framework of the typical and hypothetical hypotheses. Through the integration of illusion and immersion in the theatrical role, linking it to the processes of embodiment and identification. This was further enhanced by the effectiveness of digital technologies, combined with typical and traditional performance styles and the repetition of expressive tools within the space of performance and reception.

2-                    The play "Disagreement" employed repetitive imagery in its performance and scenographic purity. This stemmed from the repetition of the image and the semantic dimensions it adds, creating a kind of continuity and flow of meaning related to the disagreement within the structure of society and reality. This is evident through the levels of performance and movement, the inspiration and application of certain performance motifs, and their repetition by professional actors. Similar and repeated elements were introduced in the levels of action, movement, and sound to capture the audience's attention through the aesthetics of repetition and the communicative connection it fosters, conveying the dramatic meaning of the play "Disagreement."

The most important conclusions are:

1-  Repetition has effectiveness and aesthetic value. Its function is distributed to draw attention, reinforce, and embellish the semantic impact of theatrical performance at the levels of physical and vocal performance within the theatrical presentation.

2-  Repetition gives theatrical performance a semantic density and a distinct structural quality in the forms that constitute the scenographic space.

The research concludes with a list of sources and references.
