The Aesthetics of Saudi Al-Sadu in Digital Art According to Formalist Theory: A Case Study

This study aimed to explore the aesthetics of Saudi Sadu in Saudi digital art according to Formalism Theory by analyzing the visual and structural values embedded in Sadu motifs and examining their use in contemporary digital artworks. The study adopted the descriptive-analytical method through analyzing selected digital artworks created by Saudi contemporary artists inspired by Sadu motifs, based on the principles of Formalism Theory, including balance, repetition, rhythm, harmony, and contrast.
The findings revealed that Saudi Sadu motifs possess rich aesthetic and structural qualities that make them adaptable to contemporary digital art forms combining authenticity and modernity. The study also confirmed the role of digital art in revitalizing Saudi cultural heritage through innovative visual presentations while preserving its cultural and aesthetic significance. The study recommended supporting artistic and academic projects concerned with digitizing Saudi heritage and integrating it into contemporary art and design
