يمثل الفن التشكيلي جزءً من ثقافة المجتمع؛ وقد واكب تطور الفن اقتحام عوالم جديدة عرفت بالبعد الرابع، فبعد أن دخل الفن حدود الهندسة والاختزال؛ بدأ يقتحم اللامعقول، فتغير شكل الفن وفلسفته، وانتقل من الحداثة إلى ما بعدها إلى المعاصرة؛ متحولاً من الهيئة الشكلية إلى هيئة رمزية ذات مضامين فلسفية ترتبط بالمؤثرات الضوئية والسمعية والحركية كونها تجسد الزمن، فأصبح المفهوم هو سيد الفكرة. ويهدف البحث إلى التعرف على مفهوم الزمن وأنواعه، ثم المفهوم الفلسفي للزمن وانعكاسه على الفن المعاصر، من خلال الدراسة التحليلية لمختارات من الفنون المعاصرة القائمة على تحقيق فلسفة الزمن.
