تعد مسلسلات الرعب من الانواع المهمة في عالم الدراما التلفزيونية، والتي تمتلك القدرة على التلاعب بمشاعر المشاهد عبر اثارة الخوف والترقب بداخله من خلال تدفق عناصر الصورة التي تحمل في طياتها مجموعة من العناصر المشتركة لغرض اثارة الخوف والفزع، وما تواجهه الشخصيات من عقبات، واستخدام المكان واضاءته في خلق جو نفسي مثير للرعب وبالتزامن مع التقدم التقني والفني الذي يشهده العالم العربي، بدأت مجموعة من الشركات وجهات الانتاج بصنع اعمال الرعب حيث اعتمد المخرجين على التراث الشعبي وقصص السحر، والنتاج الادبي للكتاب العرب، والارواح في انتاج اعمال درامية مختلفة، وسيتناول البحث اليات المعالجة لتلك النصوص من خلال اطاره النظري.
