تناول البحث الحالي ظاهرة وسمات الحداثة في اعمال كل من النحاتين النحات العلراقي اتحاد كريم والنحات البريطاني تشادويك حيث تميزت اعمال كل منهم بسمات حداثوية شكلت ظاهرة فنية جديدة في النحت لدى كل منهما.
وقد تألف البحث من المقدمة التي تناولت فيها الباحثة: الفن التشكيلي في المراحل الفنية التي سبقت عصر الحداثة عمل على تكبيل ابداع الفنان بقيود إتقان المطابقة في محاكاة المستدعى الشكلي من المحيط البيئي لإرضاء رغبات المحيط الجمعي، في حين حرص الفنان التشكيلي بمرحلة الحداثة على التوجيه نحو الداخل لإرضاء هواجسه الانفعالية والسيكولوجية مع ما يمتلكه من فيض معرفي وثقافي ليتوجه بالفن التشكيلي، ومن ثم حددت حدود البحث وتعريف المصطلحات. وبعدها تناولت الباحثة مفهوم الحداثة وتطبيقاتها في التشكيل الفني، وايضا حركة الحداثة في النحت العراقي، ليتم الخروج بمؤشرات النظري كقياس لإجراءات البحث الذي حددت الباحثة عيناته للفنان اتحاد كريم وتشادويك. لتخرج الباحثة بمجموعة النتائج والاستنتاجات، وأخيرا تثبيت مراجع ومصادر البحث.
